SOPA/PIPA’s down for now, but it’s not the only threat in town…

howtheyfly:

I don’t get why everyone went mad over SOPA but no one is paying ACTA any attention even though it’s 1000 times worse. It affects 39 countries and if it passes it would mean that everyone’s online activity would be under 24/7 surveillance, everything you upload, download and write online would be checked, and you could even be sued or sent to prison for just writing words from a copyrighted sentence.

Okay, not “Pagan,” but still news-related. And kinda funny.

I actually watched that thing go down. Somebody like Polis, Lofgren, Issa, or Chaffetz would bring up a need for experts, and everyone else would be like, “WE DON’T NEED EXPERTS!  WE NEED TO STOP PIRACY!!!”

The video you NEED to watch about SOPA.

If you fail to reblog this, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your groin.

Another way to fight SOPA: Black March

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reblog this post to spread the word!

shivian:

Feds shut down MegaUpload for copyright violations. If SOPA / PIPA passes, this could happen to any of us without ANY proof / due process.

Megaupload charges: copyright infringement, conspiracies to commit racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering

The ‘Charming’ SOPA / PIPA Supporter, Cat Yronwode (owner of LuckyMojo.com)

shivian:

Below are a grouping of quotes from Cat Yronwode, owner-operator of Lucky Mojo Curio Co.’s personal Facebook page.

Cat is such an avid supporter (yes, supporter) of SOPA / PIPA, that she proposes the government allow her to kill pirates (no, I’m not kidding).

Read below, then choose whether you ever wish to continue to support Lucky Mojo Curio Co. again.

I know I won’t.

“…I want my government to pass laws to put an end to the rip offs. ANY laws. ALL laws. MORE laws. The more fucking draconian the laws against internet piracy the better”

“[book pirates] should be put on a federal registry of book pirates, like sexual molestors [sic] are, so that i will KNOW THEM FOREVER and will be able to refuse to sell them my books.”

“If you don;t [sic] ‘get it’ [if you don’t understand why she supports SOPA / PIPA] then you are an enabler of theft.”

“To those who propose a ‘middle ground’ — FUCK THAT.”

“If stopping internet piracy means that the government gives me the right to carry a shot gun and shoot the pirating mother fuckers in the face, i will DO IT!”

“If someone broke into my home to steal my collection of tea cups, i would have the right to shoot them in the face. I feel the same way about people who steal my intellectual property. They are irredeemable criminals and the only sure way to eliminate them from society is to kill them.”

Charming person indeed, this Cat.  She should get professional help for those violent urges of hers.

Internet piracy would only be comparable to stealing teacups if the teacups actually stayed in your house after they were stolen.

Remember folks, no SOPA/PIPA supporter is too large or too small to boycott.

So how many conspiranoids cared enough about SOPA to join the blackout?

So, how many conspiranoids have blacked out their sites or at the very least put up a big fat banner in protest of SOPA?  You’d think the number would be quite high, whatwithall their panic over the government taking control of everything.  Here are some sites I’ve checked out yesterday…

  • Alex Jones: Has a big “STOP SOPA” sign on his site.
  • David Icke: Not a peep.
  • Jeff Rense: Links to news article; no blackout or banner.
  • Coast to Coast AM: Nada.
  • Vigilant Citizen: Nothing.
  • Answers In Genesis: Absolutely nothing.
  • Jesus-is-Savior: Nope.
  • 9/11 Truth: Check!  Big message on the front page!
  • Above Top Secret: Yes!
  • Exopolitics: Zilch.
  • Godlike Productions: Forum discussion; no announcement.
  • End of the American Dream: Nothing.
  • 9/11 Truth Conspiracy: Nope.
  • 911Conspiracy.tv: Not a peep.
  • Hidden Truth: Nuffin’.
  • Steve Quayle: Nothing.

Conclusion: Most conspiranoids would just rather whine loudly than actually do anything.
